Seeing Crochet Stars

After a very long break from crochet I am back in the swing of things. I haven't made anything properly for a good few months, mainly because I had lost my crafting mojo and felt like I was just crocheting random things just for the sake of it and therefore not enjoying it.

I have a new project on the books which is a baby blanket for a friend of a friend who is due next month! She wanted something that would go with the baby's nursery, in particular the curtains she has bought which are grey with white stars. After a bit of research I found this pattern by Dorris Chan - All Star Blanket (link). I couldn't find any site where I could buy the blanket pattern on its own so ended up buying an e-book via Interweave (link), which was on offer at the time.

The pattern looked complicated when I first read through but after a few (5) practices I finally got the hang of it and I am now half way through! I'm really pleased with how it looks so far and can't wait to get onto the border so I can add a bit of colour.

Now that I'm back on the crochet I have so many projects planned and can't wait to get started on them! I have a couple more baby blankets to get through, some sweet summer clothes for my niece and possible a top for myself.

I'll keep you posted on the star blanket progress :)
